Feel Your Best Tip: A Diet that Works For You
7/19/16 — Do you ever feel unsure about what you “should” or “shouldn’t” be eating? There’s a ton of conflicting information when it comes to food!
People ask me all the time if I’m gluten free, dairy free, caffeine free, vegan, vegetarian, sober, etc. They’ve often read articles or seen TV segments that make them feel like they should cut certain things out.
To these questions, I always say the same thing. I think it’s really important is that we consciously make our own choices based on what feels right in our own bodies, not what other sources say or do.
We’re all different. Our bodies, histories, and even climates often vary. There is no one-size-fits-all way to eat, or live.
On the other hand, I believe that as we each get present in our bodies and aware of how we feel, we gain authentic knowledge that helps naturally move us toward healthy choices in our own diets and lives overall.
So this is my approach. I don’t swear anything off. My focus is on staying connected.
If you want some guidance on how to move in this direction, check out my book Nourishing Your Whole Self: A Cookbook with Feelings (which also has some of my favorite easy, tasty recipes) and my guided meditation album (both are on Amazon). Try a yoga or meditation class too.
This stuff really helps me. See how that makes you feel!
