Freshen Up with a Berry Smoothie

11/29/13 — It’s that time of year.  We’re all eating a little (or a lot) heavier than usual.  But this recipe is a tasty way to freshen things up.  It’s a simple smoothie that’s full of feel good effects.

Chocolate Banana Berry Smoothie

  • 5-8 dark cherries, frozen
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup almond milk (unsweetened), regular milk, soy, hemp or rice milk also work
  • 1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp. ground flaxseed
  • Handful of fresh spinach, optional

Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Pulse until smooth.

Serves 1.
